Biyografi

Professor Yeşim Özer Özkan is an academic specializing in educational measurement and evaluation. She completed her undergraduate studies in the Primary Mathematics Education Program at Eskişehir Osmangazi University, earned her master’s degree in Educational Measurement and Evaluation from Hacettepe University, and received her PhD from the Institute of Educational Sciences at Ankara University. She began her academic career at Kilis 7 Aralık University and has been serving at the Faculty of Education at Gaziantep University since 2013. She was awarded the title of Associate Professor in 2018 and Full Professor in 2024. In 2023, she conducted international academic research as a postdoctoral visiting scholar at the Centre for Assessment Research, Policy and Practice in Education at the Institute of Education, Dublin City University.

Her research focuses on international large-scale assessments such as PISA, TIMSS, and PIRLS, item response theory, measurement invariance, assessment literacy, formative assessment, and data-driven decision-making processes in education. She has served as a principal investigator and researcher in national and international projects and has provided training in numerous The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye [TÜBİTAK]-funded scientific events and professional development programs. Having supervised many graduate theses, her work aims to enhance the quality of educational measurement and evaluation practices and to strengthen the link between policy and practice. She continues her scholarly work in teacher education, scale development, and data analytics, and is married with two children.
