Biyografi

He was born in İzmit, Türkiye. He graduated in 1999 from the Department of Philosophy and Related Science Education at Gazi Faculty of Education, Gazi University. He completed his master’s degree in 2002 and his doctorate in 2009 at the Graduate School of Educational Sciences of the same university. After teaching Philosophy and Related Science courses in various parts of Türkiye for a period, he served as a subject-matter specialist at the Board of Education of the Ministry of National Education. At the undergraduate level, he teaches courses such as Thinking Education, Approaches to Learning and Teaching Philosophy, Philosophy Curricula, Aesthetics, and Philosophy of Religion. At the graduate level, he offers courses including Philosophy for Children and Thinking Education, Philosophy of Artificial Intelligence and Education, Philosophical Anthropology and Education, Method in Philosophical Reading, Writing, and Discussion, and Problems of Education in the Post-Truth Age. His main research interests include the teaching of philosophy, philosophy for children, thinking education, philosophy of education, philosophical anthropology, democratic citizenship education, human rights education, and values education. He has published numerous articles in national and international journals and has presented papers in these fields. His books include Thinking Education: A Teacher’s Guide, Human Rights, Citizenship and Democracy, Philosophical Reading and Writing, and The Level of Internationalisation of Universities in Türkiye. He has also served as an expert, researcher, committee member, and coordinator in various national and international institutions and organisations, including the European Union, the Council of Europe, the Ministry of National Education, and UNESCO. Dombaycı was awarded the title of Associate Professor in 2015 and became Professor in 2021. He currently continues his academic work as a faculty member in the Department of Turkish and Social Sciences Education, Division of Philosophy and Related Science Education, Gazi Faculty of Education, Gazi University.
