Prof. Dr. Kürşat ÇAĞILTAY
Biyografi
Prof. Dr. Kursat Cagiltay graduated as the top-ranked student from the Department of Mathematics at Middle East Technical University (METU), where he also earned his M.S. degree in Computer Engineering. He holds dual Ph.D. degrees in Instructional Systems Technology and Cognitive Science from Indiana University, USA.
Prof. Cagiltay served as the technical team leader of the METU–TÜBİTAK initiative that established Turkey’s first Internet connection in 1993. Between 2002 and 2022, he was a faculty member in the Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technology at METU. From 2022 to 2025, he served as a faculty member in the Computer Science and Engineering Program within the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences at Sabancı University. He currently serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Education at TED University.
His research interests include technology-enhanced learning, learning engineering, human–computer interaction, eye-tracking technologies, and virtual and augmented reality.
Virtual Reality for Educational Material Development
| § Workshop Description | : | The aim of this workshop is to provide participants with a fundamental understanding of virtual reality technologies and to demonstrate their potential applications in education through hands-on activities. Throughout the workshop, participants will learn how to develop educational virtual reality environments without requiring programming expertise or expensive hardware. During the practical sessions, participants will design and develop their own virtual reality environments on their computers and experience them on their smartphones. |
