Professor Adalet KANDIR

Gazi University

Professor Adalet KANDIR is a faculty member in the Department of Preschool Education at the Department of Basic Education, Gazi Faculty of Education, Gazi University. She completed her undergraduate studies in 1988 in the Department of Child Development and Education at Gazi University Faculty of Vocational Education. She earned her master’s degree in 1991 in the Department of Child Development and Education at Gazi University Institute of Social Sciences and her doctorate in 1997 in Child Development at Ankara University Institute of Science.

Since joining Gazi University, she has served in various academic roles: Lecturer in 1988, Instructor in 1991, Assistant Professor in 2002, Associate Professor in 2008, and Professor since 2013. Throughout her academic career, she has researched preschool curriculum development, cognitive processes and cognitive development, sustainability and environmental education, scientific thinking, mathematics education, development of academic skills, integration of digital technologies into education, STEAM education, and developmental assessment tools. Her research has been widely published in national and international journals, frequently cited by educators and researchers, and has significantly contributed to the development of practical methods in early childhood education.

Professor KANDIR has authored books on Curriculum Development in Early Childhood, Mathematics Education in Early Childhood, Science Activities, Preparatory Studies for Literacy, and Language Activities. She has also served as a committee member in developing the Ministry of National Education’s Preschool Education Programs, providing training seminars and conferences for teachers, administrators, inspectors, and parents. Additionally, she has participated in numerous national and international projects related to her areas of expertise.

Professor KANDIR’s work has contributed to advancing innovative approaches in early childhood education. Her academic publications offer valuable insights for enhancing the quality of preschool education. Her publications on preschool education programs stand out for their practical and theoretical aspects. Her works, which aim to support children’s scientific and critical thinking skills from an early age, have enriched teachers’ classroom activities and guided families. Her studies focus on encouraging educators to adopt contemporary and innovative methods, fostering the development of early childhood education practices.
