Prof. Dr. Kürşat Çağıltay graduated at the top of his class from the Department of Mathematics at Middle East Technical University (METU) and earned his Master’s degree from the Department of Computer Engineering at the same university. He holds dual doctoral degrees from Indiana University in the United States, one in Instructional Systems Technology and the other in Cognitive Science.

He served as the technical team leader of the project initiated by METU and TÜBİTAK, which brought the Internet to Türkiye in 1993. Between 2002 and 2022, he was a faculty member in the Department of Computer Education and Instructional Technology at METU. From 2022 to 2025, he served as a faculty member in the Computer Science and Engineering Program at the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Sabancı University. He is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Education at TED University.

According to the results of a study conducted in 2021, he ranks among the top three most productive and influential researchers in the field of education in Türkiye.

Prof. Dr. Kürşat Çağıltay’s academic research interests include technology-enhanced learning, learning engineering, human-computer interaction, eye-tracking technologies, and virtual/augmented reality.
